Survey Operation
Survey is the preliminary stage while settlement is the final stage.
It is the act of measurement which determines the relative positions and distinctive
features of objects on any portion of the earth's surface, the result of which is plotted
on a paper to a certain scale. It is essentially a process of determining relative of
point's to horizontal plane.
The result of the survey when plotted on a paper on a certain scale is called a plan or
map. If the scale is large, it is a plan and if it is small a map.
Objectives of Survey
1) To determine the areas of individual and collective holdings
2) To divide the areas into classes for determination of revenue rates
3) To find out the features of the land area
