Financial Assistance

The unit was established on September 1993 with financial assistance of Rs. 21 lakh from North Eastern Council, Govt. of India, Shillong during 1988-89.

Production

Production process is being used by and large semi-sterile in which bacterial biomass is serially upscaled from slants to small flasks, to bigger flasks kept on rotary shakers. Some times glass fermenters are also being used. After quality checking pure bacterial broth is mixed with sterile carrier material and packed.

Extension Activities

(a) Most of the extension activities are being taken up by the extension wing of the Department.
(b) The unit has also conducted 18 no of field demonstrations under the demonstration programmes of RBDC, Imphal
