Financial Assistance 

The unit was established on Aug. 2001 with  financial assistance Rs.10.49 Lakh from Govt. of India under National Project on Use and Development of Biofertilizers.

Production

Production process is being used by and large semi-sterile in which bacterial biomass is serially upscaled from slants to small flasks, to bigger flasks kept on large rotary shakers. After quality checking pure bacterial broth is mixed with sterile carrier material (Charcoal) and packed. Size of the packet and shelf life 200 gm, shelf life six months

Production of biofertilizers has started  since April 2002. 48 MT of biofertilizer produced by the RBDC Imphal has been distributed through this unit by the Department in the state of Mizoram during the last six years.

Extension Activities

Most of the extension activities are being taken up by the extension wing of the Department collaborating with the extension activities of RBDC, Imphal.
