The unit was established on 1981-82 with the financial assistance received from North Eastern Council, Govt. of India, Shillong. During 1996-97, a sum of Rs. 20 lakh were provided by the GOI under the National Project on Use and Development of Biofertilizers for strengthening and upgradation.

Production


Production process is by and large semi-sterile in which bacterial biomass is serially upscale from slants to small flasks, to bigger flasks, in seed fermentor and finally in large steel fermentors (100 lit cap). After quality checking pure bacterial broth is mixed with sterile carrier material and packed. Size of the packet and shelf life 100 gm, shelf life six months. The following table shows the production for last five years.

Extension Activities

Field demonstation/farmers training condeucted  in collaboration with Deptt of Agriculture, Assam and RBDC, Imphal, under different schemes in almost all the districts of Assam

Random quality control is being taken up by the Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Assam from field samples and the quality is being assessed by the Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam.
