Objective of the Department

The Other Backward Classes and Minority communities are Socially, Economically and Educationally lagging behind the general category in the country. In order to bring them at par with the advanced section of the society in the country, particular  attention to their education and economic development is necessary. Keeping in mind of these facts the Department for Welfare of Minorities and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) was established in 30th July, 1998 to uplift the Socio-Economic conditions of these communities.
